The trip was great! We had awesome weather; hot for the beach during the day, cold at night for sleeping. The kid did great, he loves the camper and had a blast at the beach. Here are some pix...

on our way up the big dune (it's WAYY bigger than it looks in this pic). Sand isn't easy to climb!

sister and nephew running down the big hill -running down is a MUST!

The water was something like 65 degrees still. The boy literally turned blue

Like he said, "Daddy's truck" and "Gavin's camper".

Nice pics. Northern Lake Michigan and Lake Superior are some of my favorite spots. :wtg:

Thanks.

Yeah me too. About 4 years ago we went to the western side of the U.P. (thru Wisconsin) and camped right on bluffs overlooking Lake Superior. Wow, the sunsets! And about 3 years ago we went up to the eastern U.P. (thru Michigan) and camped near Mackinaw Island, then drive up to top of the U.P. to Lake Superrior at Whitefish Point. I realized that in just one day we had stood on the shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Superior!

The Great Lakes are named that for a reason! I've said before how partial I am to Lake Superior.
Great pics, man. I can't wait to get the family camping!

Gavin and his cousin look like there having a great time, that's a clean looking '95 Pathfinder. Looks like you guys had a blast, isn't it great when they can finally enjoy weekend trips w/o driving you nuts ?

Thanks for the comments everyone! The boys did have a blast, we didn't want to leave but we had to get the girls back early for a wedding shower. I'm glad I got to spend some quality time with my nephew who desperately needs a male figure in his life.

When we got back Sunday we booked another outting for the weekend after the 4th. I'm trying to put this camper to use, it's hard to find weekends in the summer!

Porsche - thanks, the Pathfinder is in 'ok' shape. It's a '95 and I just hit 120k miles over the weekend. The interior is getting a little ratty. It serves me well though.

Cubfan, looks like great fun! 65 degree water:shock: burr! Although with all the evil humidity(+80%) were having that might feel good. You got more trips planed? I'm sure the little man can't wait.

That dune looks awesome! Water is a bit chilly for me (I prefer in the upper 70s to low 80s) but looks like a good time.

I want to go camping
