S-Girl has been playing AYSO this summer. Tonight was her fifth practice/game. Up until now, she's been a bit timid. She is excited about going to practice, and does pretty well, but hasn't been assertive in going after the ball. Most of the other kids on her team have better ball control and seem to understand the game better than her. This morning, she told my wife that she didn't want to go to soccer tonight. We think she's bored.

We get to practice, and I give S-Girl a little pep talk about being more assertive. Then, during her 3 on3 'game', she gets the ball near the goal, shoots, and scores!!! I can't tell you how proud I am of her! She was so excited -- I was so happy for her.:fball:

Later, during the 1 on 1 drill, she stole the ball from the opposing kid and drove downfield to score again!

We celebrated with a trip to the ice cream stand. I'm really, really proud, and she's really, really happy. (She's even made up a "I'm a soccer star" dance.) \\:D/

Isnt that a great feeling!!!!! That rocks!!!!:music1:

I took my son to a one day (morining) soccer camp. More like a teaser for the upcoming soccer camp put on by the Red Bull team. It wasw almost over when he stormed off the field and told me the he quit!!! Whatas up with that?? well I couldnt talk him into gettting back in there. He loves to play soccer so Im not sure whats up. I watched everything that was going on and nothing. Im hoping that he changes a little when his fall season starts.:fball: :trophy:
