"I want to keep my kid safe. I don't care what you do -- if you want to fight the good fight or fix the world's hurts, I can't help you, but my kids are going to be safe because of these backpacks," Curran said.
Yeah, right. In other news, teaching children to crouch under their desks will protect them from nuclear bombs.

And all this can be yours for only $175.00.

As far as back packs go:

My wife would go through at least 1 per semester, sometime two. I finally made a trip to a military surplus store and bought her a new Army Issue pack. That was two years ago and it is still going strong and I did not pay much more for it than packs you get at the store.

Who's to say the kid won't get shot in the face? What's next? Bulletproof glasses and braces? Kids wear bulletproof helmets to school?

I guess the intent of the product is that the kid can use it as a "shield" and hide behind it(?)

Don't know though. The chances of something like that actually working are probably pretty slim.

What will suck is when one kid grabs another kid's backpack to shield himself/herself and the kid that owns the backpack gets blown away. They will all know who has that backpack and will be their best friend until the shooting starts.

Also, they'll have to provide courses in how to properly use the bullet-proof backpack.:-s
