The end of a caffeine high, my bright idea saturday after having such a productive morning,http://dadstayshome.com/dads/showthread.php?t=5982 I thought hey, I feel good enough to rip out a floor, install and rewire lighting for the hallway below, and add support framing, and insulate, and put in a new floor, all before my son needs his room for bedtime tonight....riiiight.
I started on the project, wife took the kids out for 5 hours for self-preservation, then I needed to hit the store for my new flooring materials, $13/sheet for t/g sturdi-floor panels, some coated screws, then home, 46 miles r/t and shopping in only an hour, not bad.

Who says mice won't chew through foil, hmph, well, that little hole is no more, and the joist cavity is now well filled with fiberglass insulation.

Sunday, the wife took both kids with her to a baby shower, so another day of peace and qiuet, good thing too, it was hot/humid in the room since that a/c zone is out of order, and like a sauna outside when cutting materials. Once the old wiring was figured out I was able to finish up, slowly, heat exhaustion two days in a row really beats up the internal organs, even with 5 litres of water each day and many 1-3hr rest breaks. So, at 4pm the last sheet was laid, some vacuuming and I crashed for the rest of the day, woke up at 9pm for bedtime rutual, back to bed at 11pm.
Monday, today, I'll so some ceiling work, maybe, then put the carpet back in, all the kids toys and my sons big bed, no more crib, he's getting a full size mattress/box spring set, since this will double as the guest room, at 12x16 its the largest bedroom and has peaceful woodland views.
Only 4more bedrooms to do the same thing to, ugh.
