It gets expensive with diapers and baby wipes.

What I do is go to Walmart and buy a couple of those clear plastic containers over in the Housewares department. If you look on the bottom of them there is a Number 8 or also it says 6 cups. Then head over and buy papertowels. Also pick up some Tearless Baby Wash and Some Baby Oil.

Then when you get home cut your papertowel in half and place it in the plastic container. Then squirt some Baby Oil and Baby Wash over the top of it until it is pretty much covered. You will learn how much to use after a few times of testing it. Then run hot water over it getting the papertowels nice and moist. Place the cap over it and let it sit for 20 minutes or so. Then take the cap off and reach in and pull out the cardboard cylinder from the papertowels. Then you can start pulling pieces out from the center.

With 2 kids in diapers, I can have a half of a roll of papertowel last about a week. It has saved us a lot of money.

Don't forget to place the cap on in between uses or it will dry up.

This seems like a lot of work. I started buying tubs of wipes at the local dollar store. They are cheap and work okay.

Hi Canuck. Welcome to the new forums. :D

It seems like a lot of work at first, and getting the materials seems like a lot to do. But once you get all the stuff and after a few trial runs through, it is quick and easy and I can go 4-5 months without having to get more baby oil or wash. With a 12 roll pack of papertowels - that would be 24 rolls (cut in half), which with 2 kids in diapers lasts me 3-4 months.

It is a big money saver. But, getting wipes for $1 does seem like a great idea. :D

Sorry for bumping up this old post but I am just trying to catch up in my reading here. Yes Remington, we do this sometimes and it works great. I hate the mess it makes cutting the roll in half though.

Lately we have just been looking for the cheap wipes. Sometimes if the pack has been left open I do ad some water with a bit of oil or wash to freshing things up. Then of course there's just the old fashion warm washcloth when all other options are out :)

Yea you need a sharp knife. My wife uses a big steak knife and it tears it all to shreds. I just get out my hunting knife and it slices through the roll like melted butter. :D

Sorry Rem, we just buy the wipes in the box that has four different packages in it, I also use the wipes when it is my turn, as wet cleans better than the stuff on the roll in my opinion. But I see how this would work, as opposed to buyin them.

I find the wipes you buy have a real smooth surface and it takes quite a few of them to clean up the nasties. Bounty works real well with the dimples and cleans up the nasties in just a couple good wipes.

Why do I feel weird talking about this right now?

Nah it isn't that bad really. The kids build up callouses on their butt cheeks...

Just kidding!

They've been putting a sample of the huggies supreme wipes in with the regular ones we get, and my wife loves them, they're all ridgey and scoops it all up pretty quickly.
I'm not going that far though. I've got a family friend that works for Kimberly Clark, I should see if he can get samples or coupons or something!

LOL!

I just bought a huge box of baby wipes at sams club for $8.00 :PThat's the way to do it. We use the Pampers Cruisers for diapers (both boys wear the same size now) but the Huggies wipes, the kind for big butts, are awesome.

Also, I like those cottonelle wipes my wife buys and puts in mommy and daddy's bathroom (did I really admit that in front of all these men? ).
