I've been home with my 17 month old since day one :)
I made up my mind after looking in Nick's eyes for the first time that it would be one of us caring for him - daycare was not an option. We decided one of us would stay home and we'd switch off if necessary, so I quit the rat-race. To facilitate this we moved from San Francisco (IN THE CITY) to Boulder, CO which is much less expensive. This makes life much easier than trying to live on one income in SF.
Funny that in Boulder I'm not alone as a SAHD - in fact I see many other fathers with children during the day here, I was ALWAYS the lone father with baby in tow at the market in SF. Anyway, lots to say but I'll get to it later.
Nice that this forums exists for us. I'm looking forward to participating.

Well duh! Isn't that city known as the Gay Capitol of America? But seriously I love Gay men. Why? Well if you assume that the world population is 50% male and 50% female. The more gay men there are, then less competition to attract the ladies. Not that is an issue anymore since I have a wife already. But....if there was ever a divorce, I think I might move to SF. Where it might just be two girls for every guy.

The availability of the fairer sex is possibly higher in SF - at least it was back when I was a single dude. In any case, I believe there is a larger gay population in New York City. The gay population notwithstanding, we're talking about a metropolitan area with millions of people - and gays and lesbians are greatly outnumbered by us breeders - you'd think that there would be more SAHD's.
Welcome aboard man, great beer in and around Boulder! Rockies brewing company, hazed and infused has to be one of my favorites for hop delivery!
Glad you found the site!

Andywindsor don't forget the lesbian factor and...hey guys, do not for get Key West. I don't know the "per square mile gay population" but I think they got to be way up there...
Anyway now that it's been established that we are not homophobic maniacs, welcome esobalvarro!!!!
Key West was the best part of our honeymoon, great atmosphere...
no other comment. ;)

Was there last week - there's a neighborhood right behind the Stanley that's awesome. If you drive through it comes out in a valley full of 100's if not 1,000's of elk - an awesome sight.
