Homemade Cranberry sauce is easy and tastes MUCH better than the canned kind.

1 bag fresh cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup Apple cider

Mix all ingredients (I hope this isn't too much for Cubfan to handle) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. The cranberries will begin to pop open. Reduce heat and stir until cranberries are no longer whole. Chill. Sauce will gel in the fridge.

No apple cider? Use 1 cup water and increase sugar to 1 cup.

As Hockeyfan would say... ZING! Actually it is too many ingredients! I usually just use cranberries and sugar :)

Sounds tasty, I'll have to try it for Christmas.

If you like smooth sauce, push it through a strainer with a wooden spoon. A bit more of a pain, but I don't like having the skins in the sauce.

Chefchuck just needs to let off steam. Me and ARDad have been ripping on his Morrisvilleness and such. He's from the North and we are in the South (Wake County that is). The fun thing is...we get to do this to his face and not through the computer, as is done in other threads (nerds) JK. He's a good guy though. I think he even moved up in my book after that rip on you Cubfan. That was great. I guess that was in reference to your line about his recipe being a 2 on the easy scale where you thought it should be a 4. Thought I read something about that in an earlier recipe for turkey or something. I saw the opportunity to have a go at you too, but I let it slide. I think anyway....? You may have to get the console gamers in here for your protection. O:)

Yes, chefchuck made a good funny at Cubfan's expense. It was a good little jab.

I didn't understand all that gaming terminology so I got out of there. "Console gamers"? Is that gamer lingo for you playing with your "joystick" all day long, Hockeyfan? laughing

Don't group me in with "them". I didn't mean anything by putting them quotes. That was all for fun. Anyways...I play 360. I admit it. So does Will's Dad though and he's cool. Played with him a few times online. Good guy. We don't talk about too much weird stuff unless your talking Cogs, Locust, sniping and fragging. Okay...that's a bit weird. Wait. Have I turned into a nerd? Noooooo. I only get to play once or twice a week though so it's really not a "problem" as such. Very fun though. You gotta get your allowance and get one. Even Stretch has played a few times. Those are the only 2 from here I have seen online. Oh yeah! Besides...I only learned about a week ago how to do those little smiles. So your more nerdy than me as you've been using them for months, maybe longer. Or am I just stupid? Uh...nevermind. As you were.

Anyone who installs a back-up sump pump, and then has the patience to help me do it, is A Okay in my book!!

So he even messed with your "mess".....nice. Sounds like he's a trouper. Never met him in person, but would like to sometime. Same with you. He hooked me up for something else a while back. Still owe him a beer or three. Hopefully one of these Dad get-togethers down the road. Drink some beers for sure. I just can't go to these things if it's a 1 nighter. Too $$ to travel for a day.

Nice! Always like it when Dads (SAHDs that is) can help out other Dads. Weston (used to post alot) helped me out with wiring at my old house just before I sold it. He's another stand up guy. Basically he's nicer than he appears online. And he's usually a Saint on here so that tells you something. Great guy, great dad, and a friend.

Seems like you guys don't like recipes with lots of ingredients or too many steps but here's my .02

Take that first recipe but switch out pulpy orange juice for the apple cider.
Add 1/4 tsp. lemon zest and 1/4 tsp. orange zest after cooking but before it cools.
