Hi,
My name is Stephen Connolly and I live in Howell, Michigan, about half-way between Lansing and Ann Arbor. I'm a recently transplanted Canadian married to a girl from Kansas who is a dynamic city planner and economic development boffin. We have twins, a boy and a girl named Henry and Elizabeth who were born on June 5, 2004.
Because I'm caring for two children I have little need or desire for playgroups and it's too cold to go out anyway. Not to mention the logisitics inviolved in saddling up two infants for an outing. My kids are doing great. I have them on a regular schedule: morning and afternoon naps, in bed for the night around 9. They've been sleeping through the night since they were three months old and are content in their room until about 8:30 a.m.
I'm thinking of starting an in-home day-care and wondered if anyone had some tips.

Hi Stephen,

I'm back on DSH after a bit of an absence... My wife and I share duties as parents and running a startup business from home. I "retired" from broadcasting last summer because of health issues. Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I definitely don't have advice on running a daycare. I have little long-term tolerance for OPK's. Being a dad is easy -- I have no idea how people can handle running a daycare...

Thanks for the reply. My kids are nearly 8 months and Henry looks something like your Alex. Here is the link to the twins' website that my wife compiles and updates. www.connollytwins.aboutmybaby.com

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about OPK either but the wife and I are thinking about another income stream which won't involve farming out the twins. I enjoy being at home and don't particularly want to re-enter the work-force in the evenings or at weekends. My sister has twins and she ran a DIY day-care but I quit visiting because her home was bedlam. She also was downing Guinness by the crate when she was shot of OPK.
Regards,
SC

Hi Don,
My wife's been posting like a demon on Fertility Friend since before she fell pregnant but seems more often annoyed than not with her witless "Friends". I'd run across the Trixie Update in a NY Times profile but hadn't been happy with most other Dads' sites on offer. Perhaps because I'm comfortable at home I didn't feel isolated or bored enough to reach out. The twins are at a good stage though, they entertain themselves and can't walk yet so I have liberty to footle at the PC.
Regards,
SC

Hey, I know where Howell is! I travel up there a couple of times a year to attend some large paintball events held just south of there.

There's a pretty good Thai restaruant that we go to up in Howell. My friend's wife is originally from Thailand (she came here for college). She loves that place! It's only one of two places she's found that makes food the way she's accustomed to.

I live about a block from the Thai place on the other side of the courthouse.
