I am curious as to how often you change diapers? Is it a fairly regular schedule? My son (18 months) only goes through on average 4 or 5 diapers a day. A package of 30+ diapers lasts one week. Also, do you tend to go off diaper duty when the wife is home?

Personally I go through none. I am potty trained, BUT my son is "supposed" to be potty trained. My daughter was at that age. Anyway, he goes through 4-10 depending on how his bowels feel. Usually 5 or 6.
My 11 month old daughter I change a little more often. I change her maybe in an entire day from sunrise to sunrise probably 8 times. I am starting to change her at 4am because she leaks. She may need a bigger dipe now that I think about it.
After the 1st time my wife came home and saw my daughter with a diaper rash I made sure I changed the diaper every 2 hours on the hour.
It was off to the doghouse once again!
And yes...... off the diaper duty as soon as I hear the thud from my wife dropping all her junk on the kitchen floor and the jingle jingle from her hanging up her car keys.
We go together to relatives or friends I am usually free from the diaper changing. But I have been a caring nice loving husband and offered to do it. :D

I change my 9 month old very often to avoid diaper rash. I by my diapers at Sams in packs of 144 diapers and it seems to last a few weeks.
To be honest, I don't count anymore. See my thread about diaper brands... I think thats the one... anyway, leaks and poor fitting and wardrobe changes and of course more laundry for me! so, I think I change her every couple of hours. I'll count tomorrow ;)
Off diaper duty? Does that happen? When she was born I heard "I do Input you do Output"
for the short time that Tara was on solids and Val wasn't pregnant I got a reprieve, but now I have the morning sickness card played on me ;)
Ahh the joys!

I think I go through about 5-6 diapers a day on my 6 month old. I guess it just depends on how he and I are feeling.
My wife and I just change diapers when they are needed when we are both home. But when we go out to the store, or to a restaurant she does it, cause I convinced her that the mens restroom doesnt have a changing station, I dont know if she beleives me or not, but she doesnt argue anymore. 8)

We go though about 5 a day, maybe 6 diapers max. My son is 2 and we're starting to teach him to potty train. I am sure most of you will agree, a two year old can produce some pretty nasty diaper loads. Its like cement on the butt! My younger brother was over here a few weeks ago babysitting and had the unfortunate task (I thought it was too funny) of having to deal with a rather nasty one. I said it was great practice!! 8).
Yes, I definitely try and go off diaper duty on weekends. And yes, I say the same thing while out with my wife, that the men's rooms do not have a changing table!

But restaurants are putting that litle sign on the mens room doors now that say changing table inside. So I have been using the excuse lately that men are much dirtier than women, and "do you really want our son laying on anything that is in the mens room" she usually gives in sfter that.

My wife is usually good about changing diapers when it is just us two in public. She understands too that some people still think it is weird for a man to change diapers, and especially a girl's. I used that excuse a lot when my daughter was still in diapers. I said that I felt weird because I didn't want people to think I was a sicko cause I was changing a young girl's diaper.
Got to be careful these days.

I've used that one on my wife, too. Tremendous success!

Number of diapers? Lets see...change when she wakes in the morning, after she wakes from her nap around 1:pm, change again after the not-so-secret biological warfare diaper, change again after a second nap, and finally right before bedtime.
That's 5.
Now thats one I've got to try!
All bets are off this day for counting, we've already had two wonderfully aromatic changes this morning... we're shooting for 8 probably by the end of the day...

oh buddy, I just had a stinkbomb before he went to nap, wow, Banana mixed berries does wonders on a 6 month old's digestive track. And the color..................MAN ALIVE!!

I've got a major load to clean up in about 10 minutes...which by the smell will require the bath tub this time for clean up. My son's been poopy since we got back from the groecery store..about 2 hours ago....and is very content playing...my wife would freak I take so long to change him. mjknapp, that sounds like a nasty one!
When Tara was that age, we fed her just the banana's and she could clear a room with her farts!

I change about 15+ diapers a day with 2 kids in diapers. I try and change them at the same time (makes it easier), but my youngest requires more frequent changing. Its weird, both tend to poop before noon, so I at least get that done for the day. My oldest has a habit of hiding behind the sofa when he craps. Toilet traning is a slow battle with my oldest. And yes, my wife is on diaper duty when she is home! Its only fair!

My daughter used to hide when she pooped to, She started hiding when we tried to start potty training her. She would hide so that we didnt know she was pooping and then we couldnt sit her on the potty. Try making it fun for him to use the potty, and he will start wanting to go on it more often. We used stickers, and it worked wonders, but what is fun for one kid might not be for the next. So experiment, and let us know what you used, it may be of alot of help for me when my son starts potty training, even though it is a long time off.
