I'm quittin in June. My kids are 7 and 12. My wife is starting a law career. They have 27 million things to do every week and spend too much time in after care, in transit, or at work. I was at work last year trying to work out some crazy, insane urgent kid related scheduling nightmare when I blurted out to my wife "We need a wife!"
Well, her income increase will equal my income plus a raise. It just makes sense to step out of the game and take care of everyone.
I'm calling myself a domestic management expert.

Welcome,
I said something similar to my wife when I was still working, only it was more like "We need a second wife". Her response was "Only if she's fat and ugly and she doesn't share our bed."
Pondering that response, I figured, what's the point?

Welcome Garlinton!!
Did she go to Law School before the children or after? We are planning on my wife returning to school for a law degree. We know it will be hard and could use some words of encouragement.

I actually tried going to law school four nights a week while staying home with the kids. I lasted a year. I made great grades but I was unable to do a good job with the kids and the marriage while doing school work that met my own standards.
My wife had to leave work early every day to accomodate my class schedule. That cut into her billing and added stress. Weekends were spent studying. In the end I had to choose between a law degree or a happy family.
