Why is it so hard to find baby and toddler cloths for boys? I was out on Friday trying to replace some of the cloths our little weed has grown out of, what an act of futility.

The department stores have acres and acres of girl’s cloths but only one or two racks for boys. The kid’s stores are a little better but at two and three times the price.

Prior to our son being born we made the decision we would avoid all corporate branded clothing and decor. No sports team jerseys, no Pooh Bear wall paper, no Cartoon T shirts. This decision has made dressing the boy even harder.

About the only bright spot has been Mountain Equipment Co-op. They have great kids cloths and they give equal rack space to both genders.

Has anybody tried ordering toddler clothes on line?

You could also just not let him look in a mirror.

Absolutely nothing wrong with second hand.

1. My kid is constantly outside. He plays with my two german shepards = lots of wear n tear.

2. Grows so quick can't keep him in anything longer than a few months.

Should be 1 or 2 consignment children's clothes stores nearby. The selection is far better than department stores I've found.

We have seen that too that boys get a raw deal when it comes to clothes selection. I always find great deals at the local consignment shop as well. The only thing I have bought on line is cloth diapers as that is the only place that sells them. The other sites that have had clothes has been very pricy. Walmart is my stand-by bargan spot. I also made one pair of overalls for Alex that did not turn out to bad  . course it was time consuming.

My wife has ordered online frequently, most of the big chains have a decent return policy including bring to a store if there is one near regardless of if the items are in stock. (Does that make sense?)
I think ll bean or eddie bauer is the places she's gotten good deals from.
I'll also second consignment shops or rummage sales in the spring. The east end of town here is a prime pickin's for rummage sales in the spring.
(Thankfully my wife and her mom like to do that)

Yes, I should have a look in the consignment shops. I have a pile of baby stuff out in the garage that I need to liquidate too.

Thanks

I found a used kids clothing store that also deals in toys and furniture.

Sunday I brought in William’s bassinette, jolly jumper, bouncy chair and most of the cloths he’s grown out of. They gave me over a hundred dollars for the lot. Cleared up a lot space in my basement too.

Yard sale season is just around the corner. Last year, before my son was born, my wife went to every yard sale she could find. She got bags full of cloths for under ten bucks. Alot of new housing communities have "community sales" where everybody brings their old stuff out for sale. This is great cause you can easily hit ten or more houses in the span of a morning.

Hey, you might also want to check on eBay as long as you're looking into second hand stuff. My wife has bought literally hundreds of outfits for the girls, and when they outgrow 'em, they get relisted on eBay and sold to someone else. Course, boys might be a little bit tougher on their cloths so I don't know about relisting them, but heck, she finds gymboree outfits for $3.99 and they sell in the stores for around $15. Just a thought.
