Hi,

Back from my first solo air trip with my 2 year old. Will post how it went in my original post in the advise section. I came across this website that I wanted to pass along in case anyone is planning to take to the skies with their kids. It compares a lot of the airlines:

We've had great success on Southwest. They seem to cater to the folks with children. Southwest doesnt have seat assignments. Those that have children get to board first and thus grab the seats near the front whereas the rest of the passengers have to wait in line and are forced to hunt for seats. HAHAHAHA! Whose got the upper hand now, Mr. and Mrs. Dual Income No Kids? BWWWAAAAHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHA!

Love it! This is great. It's nice to see an airline treat families well and not as an inconvenience. I haven't flown Southwest, but have had great fligths on Air Canada with my son.

DINK's, yeah, we do have the upper hand, even though alot of DINK's probably fly first class so they dont have to deal with kids. They dont know what they are missing out on in life.

Hey Hugo, My wife has been on me for the last few months about taking a weekend trip up to toronto, She said it is only like a 5 or 6 hour drive up there, and she has really been wanting to go. Is it worth it, I have never been to toronto, and I am really close to giving in cause I am tired of her asking me. Is there alot we can do, What would you suggest.

Hey mjknapp,

Personally, I prefer Montreal. So much more culture. If you like cities with a European flare, go to Montreal instaed. We are both trying to get a transfer there. My sister lives there.

Toronto is okay. It will be cheap with the US Dollar, so it will be an affordable weekend. Give it a try or if you feel more inclined, try Montreal.

Oh, she wants to go to toronto, I have no idea why, some of her friends went there a couple yrs back, and they told her all these stories, so she is set on going there.

We've found British Airways to be the best internationally. They really know how to cater to families. Within the USA, we avoid American and Northwest. Jet Blue and Southwest seem to be doing something right! To Canada we always fly Air Canada.

JetBlue is a favorite as well as Southwest. And anyone who has ever flown American or Northwest would probably have preferred to walk instead.

Apparently British Air has been excellent for a long, long time. Some friends were telling me of their travels on British Air when they were just kids. They were about 5 and 7 years old and were treated like guests of the Queen.
