Hi all...
It was only a couple of nights ago that I realized that there are so many resources for SAHD. I don't really know if I qualify for that term. A little history on me. I have a little Prince, RR he is presently a year and a half. Because we live in New Jersey, neither if us can quit our jobs, so naturally I take a midnight shift while she takes the common 9-5...
This works out for us because there have no childcare expenses and hence we still own a house. Now this kind of schedule has it's drawbacks, you can imagine two full time jobs. Now as you can imagine it is very hard for me to socialize, because since I am the primary caregiver during 90% of his waking hours and most of the time when she is home, I am either sleeping or heading out the door... It goes without saying that I don't have any time to socialize, and most of my friends at work, well I guess what I am looking for is some way to contact other SAHD in order to see if there are any playgroups or social/support groups for me in this area. I keep reading about them on the internet, but the information that is posted seems so old, and I can't seem to get a response from the couple of e-mails that I have sent.
I have even contemplated the idea of organizing my own group, but due to the fact that I haven't lived in this area very long my circle of friends is limited and even then, they have older kids and they have all returned to their careers...
Is there anyone outthere in my area that can help? In the mean time this seems like a great place to make friends, and I imagine that I can get a wealth of info from all of you...
UNtil soon...
