My wife's work laptop has a bum space bar, it fell off. I've tried to get it back on, I can see how to get it back on, but just wont stay.
Her IT people want her to send it in, she'll lose about 2 days worth of productivity, I say to bring it in to a shop.
Anyone have any idea what it would cost for a shop to pop the space bar back in place? Or is it one of those things where they might have to replace the whole thing?
Thanks.

I found this for ya (from the Lenovo site):
Set the space bar properly down on the key board and make sure the holes are slotted into the space cap. And then push the cap down all the way to the keyboard. Do not slam the space cap down. Just apply a little pressure on the cap and make sure you hear that "click" sound will do. Do not use too much pressure as you will break the little plastic latch which help to hold the space key to the keyboard.

It was for US. For you, not so much.

yeah, thanks, I found that. Like I said, it just wont stay. I think the tiniest bit of something is bent and it wont fully snap in.

My neighbor's 2 year old ripped off all their keys and they had to re-affix all of them one at a time. They might be a valuable resource here....I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

Yeah, that's the exact same one I found. It was perfectly helpful, but it's not snapping in.

If she cannot be without the machine, I suggest you connect an external keyboard to it and look in eBay for an entire keyboard replacement, should be pretty cheap for a stinkpad, easy enough to swap out the good one when it arrives and she doesn't have to be without her machine.

I always had a backup external keyboard around, after the Great Coffee Spill of 2005.
