Alex's first birth day is coming up in a few months....
I told myself that I would never make a big deal of our childrens' birthdays, but as it gets closer, I'm kind of excited.
What did you guys do on your kids' first birthdays?

Yeah, birthdays are fun!
We did Connor's 1st birthday at home with family and friend, cake, ice cream, outdoor games (beer for the adults)
We have tried Chucky cheese for the oldest but the local Y rents out a party room and we use the gym, a bouncie and have fun :)
Lighten up, hahahaha!

William’s first birthday was last month.
I was under the same impression; things would be kept simple and small. Boy was I wrong!
My Mom came out for a ten day visit. We invited every single person we knew. There was absolutely no room to move in the house; I’m surprised the floors didn’t collapse. I think I blew up over a hundred balloons; my fingertips were numb for three days from knotting them.
The best decision we made was to have all the food catered; except for the cake, my wife did that herself. It really wasn’t that much more expensive than preparing it ourselves but it was sooooooo much more convenient.

Thanks guys..
Cool pick of William sideshow...lol
We did a bit smaller for Tara, invited the aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, friends, nieghbors, associates and whomever walked by on the street.
Val does a little cake decorating, and she made one to look like Tara's turtle, her buddy that goes everywhere with her.
I'll see if I can find a pic, she's pretty good at decorating! ;)
Um... where was I going with this?
yeah, first year birthdays I think are pretty huge, gotta do it up a bit.
Lolo and Lola (Wife's parents) came out to visit for Nathan's 1st.
My wife decided to make a themed cake in the shape of a duck
(his favorite animal). Nathan seemed to enjoy the cake and the
spaghetti we had before it.
