I dont go to many movies largely because I have seen too many that were just a waste of good film. However, recently there have been a few that rank way up in my list of favorites.
Pirates of the Carribean is excellent. I highly recommend it. Lost in Translation is also a good flick. Not the traditional Bill Murray role of obnoxious but loveable loser.
Currently I'm watching Return of the King. Its about 126 hours long and there is a lot of whispering and the all of a sudden HUGE BLASTS OF SOUND THAT SHAKE THE WALLS! Its pretty good so far but I'm going deaf.
What else is there?

Really liked Lost in Translation, agree.
The wife and I both LOVED Something's Gotta Give with Nicholson and Keaton...I have to say this is probably my favorite movie of the year.

Somethings Gotta Give was pretty good, have not seen Lost in Translation. Pairates of the Caribean was good. We mostly rent movies, maybe go to the theater 3 times a year. Last movie at thew theater, Miracle on Ice, good movie.

We rent, too. Pay per view and BlockBuster are the only way to go.
"Miracle" was good? It didnt play very long around here. I heard good things about it and then it disappeared.
While its not a brand new movie, The Full Monty is really good. English humor and a story to go with it. Characters are well done, too. Its one of my favorites.

Seen Full Monty, not bad. There's a women's version or similar storyline? Cannot remember the name.
Recent rentals:
SWAT = Ok
Somethings Gotta Give = Good
SChool of Rock = Good
Man, now that I think about it, we have not even been renting many movies lately.

There is alot of movies out that I like right now. We went and seen "the day after tomorrow" and it was pretty good, even though I think they gave away too much of the movie in the trailer. We rented somethings gotta give, but never watched it.
I accidently found a good family movie a while back, it was called "Joe Somebody" It has Tim allen in it. I dont know if you guys heard about it, but I had never heard of it, and when I was looking for a movie to watch one day on Comcast on demand, I seen it and decided to watch it, It was really good.

We bought "Open Range" a couple months ago on dvd, it had been sitting up on the shelf with the other 300 dvd's we have and we had never watched it until wednesday night. It is a really good movie too. Not one for kids though, really good gunfight that sounded so good in surround sound.

Costner is so high on himself that when he directs and acts in a movie you know it is gonna be good because he is gonna make himself look good. :D
Don't get me wrong I think Costner is pretty cool especially when you give him a gun and dress him in cowboy clothes.

He let Robert Duvall be "Boss" but I was surprised on how good of a job he did in a western. He can never touch Tom Selick (forgive my spelling, as I am having trouble remembering how he spell his last name) in a western though. He is one of my favorite actors.
