I know spring training is only a day or so old but based on the dealings of the offseason who is going to take the Big Game this year.

AL

As much as I hate to say it Yankees & Red Sox are always a threat. I will have to say that it's going to be the Angels. I'm not putting alot of thought and research into this so don't slaughter me. They just had a really good season last year. And they have some pop at the plate.

NL

I don't follow the NL at all. So I'm just going to make an educated guess. Only a little less educated then my AL pick. The Cubs they get so close and that wall they keep running into it's gotta come down sometime.

The playoffs are a crapshoot, to a degree. Given that, I'll guess that Cubs in the NL, by default. No one else is really impressive, and eventually they have to get their turn. If they keep Bradley healthy by limiting his play to five or so games a week, he'll be a huge addition. SP rotation is strong.

In the AL, the Central is all good but no real power, the Rays are due for a slip, the Yanks offense will fall short, the Angels are getting old. I'll take the Red Sox. They aren't perfect, but they are lined up for a late run, and are overstuffed with young players that will allow them to make July deals to put them over the top.

The Yankees will be fine. Offensively they are strong. Pitching...improved. They could be there in the end. Cubs? LOL. Be serious. I don't think 100 years of futility is going to end any time soon.

As a Mets fan I will abstain from making any baseball playoff predictions.

Indians vs. Cubs -- loser gets to hang onto the title of Team with Longest World Series Drought :eusa_dance:

Eh, probably not, but it's probably just as accurate as any other prediction. :toothless:

Cubs? LOL. Be serious.

Yeah, they have a good chance. I, y'know, follow the sport. :icon_lol:

Ask me my predictions for the Stanley Cup and I'll dish out some of the nonsense that you typically offer up on bb threads. :icon_lol:

I likely watch much more sportscenter than you. I know what's going on. Just can't bring myself to suffer through watching a game. What I say is hardly nonsense. It's called educated. Stop your nonsense. The Cub's window is closing. Sorry to tell ya! I bet your still on ARod's side eh. LOL> have fun with that.

I'm a Brewer's fan, I wouldn't be sorry at all. But their "window is closing"? Let's here it. And your predictions too, of course, since you DO watch Sportscenter.

So, you're saying all your knowledge of sports comes from Sportscenter? BooYah!! :wtg: :icon_razz:

Well if I was truly educated I'd be watching TSN, but I have to settle for Sportscenter on ESPN. What can you do? I used to dabble in Fantasy BB too. Haha.

How's that vegetarian bat of yours doing Sil? Lost his pop eh. What ever on Earth made you a Brewer fan? :twak:

That's not the thread topic. If a baseball fan wants to bring it up with me on the general thread, it could probably turn into a good discussion. Discussing the game with a Sportscenter fan who follows up so many of my bb posts with empty criticism, unable to offer up anything himself? Not so interesting.

Living where I do, Columbia Missouri, right between St. Louis and Kansas City, I always go with the Cradinals because the Royals are no better than a Triple A team. I know it may seem like a long shot for them to make it this year but theyve pulled it off well in the past. Go Cardinals.

I don't know if that's the case anymore. Outside of Pujols, the Cards aren't very impressive. I'd like to go out on a limb and say that the Royals will win as many games as the Cards this year. The only thing holding me back is that the Cards get to play the Pirates and Astros a bunch. Still, I think the Royals are going in the right direction and could land within five wins of the Cards.

The Royals are still a couple years away from anything big but I will say if they can keep the long loosing streaks from happening then they have a chance to at least pick up a wild card.... but I highly doubt it and I'm a diehard Royals fan.

Oh Silvio. Oh sad sad Silvio. If nothing, your good for a laugh and a smile. If your truly want a prediction I will give it to you. Just not tonight. Time to get the kids heading for their beds.

Empty criticism? Okay then. If you see it that way. You are the one typically on the "offensive". Are you offensive or offensive? Not sure. That's one for the ages. Anything I would say to you would be attacked and twisted. What's the point? You don't take fact well. Besides baseball is full of parody and anything that someone says could be a polar opposite of what happens. Just look at the Rays the last bunch of years. No payroll, shouldn't be able to compete at all, but they out draft the crap out of everyone. The Yankees pay for the best and have been getting the worst.

How about this. Phillies, Rays, Red Sox and the Dodgers in no particular order. I do love Man-ram though. That is my top 4 teams at the moment. Cubs and Brewers will be up there and the Yankees will be on the edge. We shall see.

Don't 3 teams make the playoffs in each league and only 2 get to the WS? The goo news is that HF picked the Phillies. That should up the Mets chances. Sorry Maddox!

BTW HF, to be fair, Silvio's first sentence in this thread is "The playoffs are a crap shoot".

They are trying, and most of their moves are pretty smart. If they can snag Hudson from signing with the Dodgers, it would help.

4 in each league -- 3 division winners and a wild card.

Do you want one from each side and the overall winner? You know how hard that is in baseball? I'll think about it. Just want to make sure I'm right.
