Congratulations and good riddance to the Patriots Rob Gronkowski who announced his retirement yesterday. I am a Jets fan but love the guy. Who would not want to be him? Living the dream. I bet he could walk up to any tailgate party at any NFL teams field parking lot as a player and be embraced.

That being said I am certain the Patriots will pull another player off the scrapheap and fill right in for Gronk. That is just how they operate.

LOL. Yes, there always seems to be a Happy Ending where the Patriots are concerned lol!

BTW, Mark. How are you feeling about LeVeon Bell? Frankly I'm happy he's no longer in Pittsburgh.

I will start thinking about the Jets next September. Why ruin my summer?

Good plan, because your new running back doesn't do training camp. In fact, count on him being irrelevent for the first 5 weeks of the season - which for the Jets means that he'll start to contribute about 2 weeks after the season is effectively over. Then, by week 10 he'll either,

a: feel like he's accruing too much wear and tear on his body and clamp down on his efforts - then blame the rest of the team for being unproductive;
b: get suspended when he refuses to submit for drug screening; or
c: get a season-ending injury.

...but you know he'll be worth the salary of both a running back AND a wide receiver. Isn't "medical" marijuana wonderful?

With Beckham gone from the Giants it looks like the Jets have the new Football Diva in town.

Yup. Just imagine if the Steelers somehow gave you Antonio Brown for ODB!

The NY Media will crush him like a bug if he acts up.

I dunno. He's got big friends in the media who have been enabling his little freak show for TOO long.

I fully expect both Bell and Brown to emotionally implode at some point and land in jail. Look at Santonio Holmes. He went from Steelers Super Bowl MVP to some shmuck who shot himself in the crotch in a NY night club.

Bell is literally acting like a child but Brown is much closer to being jailed or killing an innocent bystander with the recent accusations of domestic violence by one of his baby mamas, high speed moving violations (100+ mph in a 40mph zone) in his Lambourghini and a lawsuit filed back in October where he was accused of throwing furniture off the balcony of a Miami apartment and nearly hitting a man and his 22 month old toddler below. The man is unstable and nearly as dangerous off the field than on it. His Twitter and Instagram antics were amusing at best but became annoying because he was basically a crappy teammate who often skipped out on training - or showed up with excessive pomp (arriving in a Bentley or a helicopter but not staying with the rest of the team) and essentially being a distraction.

I've said it before: I think he got a concussion at the hands of then-CIN LB Burfect - who is ironically his teammate in Oakland. Since then the nut has been cracked off the shell, and Brown's acted like somebody who's addicted to something. Someone in TMZ is going to be rich.
