Summer time shakes,or anytime

I've made these for years for me and my oldest(7),now my daughter loves them too.In your blender add Skim milk, strawberries(usually frozen whole ones),blueberries(frozen) a banana ,couple spoons of peanut butter and blend...Very good and good for them, they don't even care that its not loaded up with ice cream..We usually have one everyday.

Yep, make those all the time, especially in the summer. Any frozen fruit, skim milk, lowfat yogurt, orange juice. Endless flavors.

Back when I was commuting I would make one of those nearly every morning, while the dumb *ss yuppies are paying $5 each at Jamba Juice. Frozen fresh fruit and a blender make a great team.

Adding a 1/2 cup of plain or vanilla yogurt is a nice touch too. Sometimes I forget about the bags of frozen fruit at the bottom of the freezer, so thanks for the reminder.

I make smoothies 3-4 time a week...

Favorite right now is Mango/Banana with Yogurt...

I do the same as most everyone else. I'll freeze some of it also for Popsicle like treats.

Yup.
Haven't tried the peanut butter though. We have the older kids making them now.

I tired freezing them but my kids prefer they're not. This is an incredible treat for my children.

It's nice to see a thread from the summer bumped on this cold, cold morning.

Smoothies are a year-round thing around here... I could pretty much put ANYTHING in a blender, let my 2 1/2 year old press some buttons and watch it swirl around, pour it into her favorite cup, and she'd drink it. At this point, my standard version involves frozen fruit, plain yogurt, some milk, and some juice. Healthy, even, and she loves it.
