Default Pantry Pasta

One meal that saves me every week (even before my son was born) is the concept of "Pantry Pasta."

Basically, I make sure I keep certain items in the house at all times. When I get stuck for a meal idea, or the day gets away from me, I can pull several of these ingredients together quickly to make something delicious.

So here is the list:

Box of tube-shaped pasta
Box of strand-shaped pasta

Olive Oil
Cans of diced tomatoes
Crushed red pepper
Sun-dried tomatoes
Frozen containers of my homemade marinara sauce
Green vegetable that looks good and is on sale (usually zucchini, broccoli, or asparagus)
Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil; whatever is available/in-season)
2lb bag frozen shrimp
1/4lb slab Pancetta (unsmoked bacon, I can get it at the deli counter)
Chicken broth
Bread crumbs

I can easily create a tasty dinner and provide leftovers for lunch the next day. I will share the ones that I make going forward. Hope this helps...
