Default Soup Suggestions

I am looking for suggestions and recipes for soups. I make a decent lobster bisque and a broccoli and cheddar, but need some other suggestions to keep things interesting. Trying to stay away from canned soups. What are your favorites?

I personally love home made chicken noodle. AEgg Noodles, chicken broth, celery, carrots, potatoes, a couple chicken breasts (or for more taste buy a rotisserie chicken from a local grocery store and use the meat from there, both light and dark).

My favorite is a ruben soup. thickened chicken stock with corn beef chunks, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut. Top it with some big rye croutons.
Chili is also great for cold days.
Beef barley, french onion, potato. Clam chowder. Gumbo.

I made a KILLER turkey noodle soup after thanksgiving and then new years. The secret to mine (IMO) was the use of bok choy while simmering the carcass (making the stock) as well as while making the soup.

I also like my minestrone, I'll post the recipe sometime soon.

I like using this as a base recipe and loading it up with whatever veggies I have on hand - and then kick it up with a little Sambal Oelek chili paste.
