Cordless drill?

milwaukee makes awesome cordless drills. mine is a drill, driver, and hammer drill. 18V lithiom ion...unbeliveable durability ( I dropped it from a 6 foot step ladder onto concrete picked it up and kept on working.) Grainger usually has pretty good sales on them and home depot also carries them.

+100. Stop shopping. My 18v DeWalt cordless is the real deal. Long battery usage, comes with 2 batteries, only takes about 15 minutes to recharge. All kinds of torque and power. Could not be happier with mine.

yeah I knew someone would say that. But its the Cadillac of black n decker. I swear by my DeWalt power tools. They are the shizzle!

Perhaps the greatest endorsement of all for DeWalt is the fact that they are all my FIL will buy. That man researches, analyzes, and agonizes over any big purchase, and his workshop is filled with DeWalt. The man is a master diy guy too.

I've had Makita and DeWalt. I don't know how to compare, but I have killed 4 DeWalt 18V batteries so far. I use them a lot though, with a circular saw and hammerdrill. If you think you'll ever go into brick/concrete, the hammerdrill will seem worth it in one use. Goinggrey liked the Milwaulkee lith-ion too, sounds like a nice one.

not to argue, but lots of older guys have garages filled with Craftsman, and back in the day they were good, I have several dewalt tools as I thought highly of them in the mid 90's, but times change... I still believe for the cost Ridgid is the best out there right now, especially when you consider the warranty they have. However I don't have a cordless Ridgid, I have 3 dewalts and 2 craftsman, all on their way out so it's just a matter of time

edit: my brother does have the Ridgid set and I have used his numerous times on different jobs.

I have a couple drills, a Ryobi 18V and a Black and Decker 12V.
The Ryobi's batteries were shot within a couple months.
My Black and Decker is still running strong about 6-7 years in. It's a combo pak with a Drill, a Saw, and a Mouse Sander attachment. I love it and have used it for a ling time. I bought a couple extra batteries just to have something to switch over to, but they run great!

I know that there are probably better drills out there, but my old B&D is my favorite!!

And if money seems to be an issue, believe it or not, Harbor Freight makes some decent tools that if taken care of, you definitely get your money's worth. Chicago makes fair quality tools, which are ridiculously priced... and hey, if they crap out after a few jobs, you hardly spent anything on them.. LMAO...

I have an 8 year old Ryobi set (light, drill, recip. saw, vacuum, circular saw) that has dead batteries. It is a good set and has served me well through a lot of abuse. I need to do something about the dead batteries soon.

As a side note, if the battery pack screws together, they can be rebuilt. It's about 1/2 the price of a new battery pack.

That being said, I have never heard a complaint about DeWalt. I have a 110v DeWalt grinder that has been to hell and back and runs like a top. I've done a lot of heavy work with it, far beyond it's size rating, and it keeps on going.
