Default Playdough

This isn't a food recipe, but a recipe nonetheless! And it's something that took me forever to find (one that worked, I should say!), so I figure it's a good one to share:

In a bowl, mix:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoons of cream of tartar (comes in the spice aisle, it's a flour like powder...it's CRUCIAL0
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

While that mixes, put 1 cup of water on to boil. I usually add the food coloring to the water as it heats up. Once it is boiling, then pour it into the dry mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until you have a blob. (It won't seem like you are gonna have a good batch, but just keep stirring and trust me!)

Once you have the glob, put it on a cutting board, or whatever, and knead the hell out of it until you have PLAYDOUGH!

Now it's playtime, and, if your child is like my son, you get to spend the next twenty minutes reminding him that he can't eat it.

Good times!

That's what puts me off getting Playdough for my son, he will try and eat anything at the moment. Nearly ate Blu-Tak the other day!.

They need a version with a dash of hot sauce in there to keep kids from eating it
