Never an easy decision but for the best usually. I did it after putting down my 17 year old beagle and swearing off dogs. 3 weeks later we rescued another beagle. IMO opinion rescuing a dog should make it easier to put it down when the time comes. Like others have said here, you gave it a second chance and a much better life than it had before.

As these guys say Onethird, you gave him a great life, a lucky dog. Doesn't make it easier I'm sure.

I say it all the time....."In my next life I want to come back as a dog in my house."

Our dog says "yeah, wait till you get YOUR nuts cut off. I deserve to lie around the house and get fed after that."

Back to seriousness, our dog has been such a great addition to our house. He's just a happy friendly guy, and helps us all get past grumpy times. What great pets. Worth the sadness of having to part with them hundredfold. Cheers to your avatar pic One-third.
