Good morning, guys.

I smoked a couple of pork butts on Friday, and we had family over on Saturday. The rest of the weekend was spent in the pool. I'll put some pictures up soon, but I still have to finish the railing. The heat is not cooperating with outside work lately. By 4pm, the weather-guy is predicting 114-117 degree heat indexes. Nuts.

We went down to Stone Valley Resort in West Virginia for the weekend. It was a nice place about 2 hours south of us right off I-79. They have a lodge and golf course and hiking and mountain bike rentals and boat rentals (kayak, pontoons) on the lake. I don't think there will be a return visit, though. The lodge was nice but the pool and outdoor seating area was kind of small. Lots of kids too. There's also an RV campground across the water (which is OK) but they allow them and locals to come and use the facilities too.

Elbow to elbow, eh? Yeah that's not fun. Not what you paid for. Kayaking on a lake does sound relaxing, though. Sometimes I miss the quiet.

Yeah, my wife's idea of a perfect vacation is sitting by a pool but there were too many kids running amok and all up in the hot tubs. No thank you. Even our son got sick of hanging around the pool, but he's got bad allergies and the chlorine wasn't helping. He didn't even want to rent a kayak with me.

OTOH and IMO when it comes to West Virginia it's all about the outdoors, really. Joe and I went on a 4 mile hike and he was on board with trying to mountain bike on the same path we took but we were really disappointed that the bike shop was closed for the holiday. Had I known I would have loaded ours up; they were renting out the same models (Treks) anyway.

The weather is still hot and humid, so the outdoors is off limits. We've had some mad pop-up storms during the day that drop a couple inches of water in an hour or so.

I don't know if it's the stress of being cooped-up or what, but my TMJ is back again. I suppose I need to see another dentist or oral surgeon and get a new mouth piece. Getting older and more broken these days.

My wife is in Boston for work so I'm sleeping in and making a lot of noise and sawdust when I wake up. The weather looks a little gray today, but that's Pittsburgh.

I think I need my wife to take a trip to Boston, lol. Since we both work from home, we see each other way too often.
