Someone I know is looking to get rid of a Niniji or something, apparently it's hard to find?

Strong rumor from multiple sources the MS is dropping all of their online DRM stuff, everything will work just like now.

No more always online requirement
The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours
All game discs will work on Xbox One as they do on Xbox 360
Authentication is no longer necessary
An Internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console
All downloaded games will function the same when online or offline
No additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs
Region locks have been dropped

I loved the instructional video from Sony on how to share a game.

I doubt they'll budge on the price. One positive that I've heard from the beginning is that every multiplayer game will have dedicated servers (that's a really big deal among people who play multiplayer often, cuts down on lag etc). There's millions who will pay a $100 premium for dedicated servers, probably not me though and probably not right away. We'll see, I reserve the right to change my mind

It's a fair price for what you are getting. Actually better than fair. For the technology that is in this thing they could easily ask over a grand.

The reaction to Sony and how they played up the fact that they did not have all the restrictions at E3 probably had as much to do with the turnaround as the outrage. What I think the publishers fail to see to is that the used sales help the new sales. People buy a used game our borrow a game and like it. Then when the next game comes out many more will buy it if they enjoyed the last one. I borrowed Gears 2. I purchased Gears 3 and Judgment.

As for the always on issues. For me it was not a problem, but it is a problem for a lot of people. We are not just talking about people that can't afford a high speed connection, we are talking about military personal as well as people in many areas that for whatever reason the infrastructure is not there.

Glad they changed their minds. Still probably won't purchase until after I graduate in December. Maybe as a graduation/RN job gift.

For you classic turn based strategy fellas, Sid Meirer's Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire expansion is on sale for $2.99 on Good Old Games. It's a vastly improved Civ 3 set on an alien planet. One of my favorite games of all time.

Good Old Games is very legit as well, all games are DRM free meaning once you purchase and download it it's yours forever and you can play it on as many machines as you like.
