Just finished "Vendetta- Bobby Kennedy vs Jimmy Hoffa" by James Neff. It took a long time to get Hoffa behind bars but RFK finally did. Hoffa was quite the Shyster.

I finished "As You Wish". If you like Princess Bride it's a biography principally by Carey Elwes about the making of the film. It's very good.

The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism
by Naoki Higashida, K.A. Yoshida (Translator), David Mitchell (Translator)

I don't have a kid with autism. I know some kids, and some families who struggle with it.
Some of you guys, too. Kwak especially.
If I was a prayin' kind of guy you would all be in my prayers.

Y'all should read this.

Just finished "The Rising". It is the true story about a triple murder in CT, a mom and 2 daughters were killed. The father escaped from the basement before the house was burnt down by the murderers. I had heard of the story before I moved here and found out after we did move here that it happened only 20 minutes away. Turns out the Father was from the next town over and much of the story takes place right around where I live. I found it interesting that I could figure out where things took place without them giving away addresses/locations. The Father ends up remarrying and starting a new family some years later. He likes to hang at my favorite deli. Who new? I am certain I met him at the store some months back. We were chatting and I thought he was with his Grandson until he corrected me and said it was his son. The pics in the book look very familiar.

His "second life" was made quite public in the media and I always questioned whether I would have taken that tact. I still do. To each his own.

P.S. Both sickos got the death penalty.

I skimmed through it. My kid is MR too so it's more than what he described.

Meanwhile, I'm currently reading "Disconnected Kids" by Dr. Robert Melillo. It's a sort of primer to the Brain Balance Program and touches upon a lot of the Neurodevelopmental and biomedical based stuff that I've been reading over the years. I'm hoping to get my wife to read it. She's normally skeptical but one of her coworkers has a child on the spectrum who went through the 12 week Better Brain Balance program and my wife says he had a total transformation.

Not to sound desperate or anything, but I'm sick of a life based around medications and optimum saturation levels and periods and whatnot. I just want to live to see the day when neither one of us has to ask the other "did you remember to give him his medicine?" whenever something unpredictable happens.

Just finished "Insured For Murder", the true story of a murder mystery that nobody really pursued until a crack reporter, author Robin Yocum, from Ohio dug up details and found out that some poor slob was murdered so 3 nuts could collect Life Insurance on one of the guys who was in on it. All 3 were later captured and sentence for the bogus claim. All for about 1.5 million.

"How to fish", by some moron who found a publisher. (Chris Yates?)
It's a dumbass story of his passion for a big perch (wtf). Does NOT teach a thing! Just him rambling on for 300 pages.
If it wasn't a library book, I'd have thrown it out. Like a fool I kept reading on like Moby Dick Was gonna sink his boat or something.

Just finished "Avenue of Spies" by Alex Kershaw. It is about a little known story of the French Resistance During Germany's invasion of Paris France during WWII (yes id did actually happen) which was very much lead by an American Dr. living there at the time. Dr Jackson and his European wife and 14 year old son all were involved in the resistance after being asked to help by real spies. Very intriguing story with a kind of Schindler's List type of twist. Their actions save countless lives. Dr. Jackson would be killed days short of the end of the war by friendly fire.
