Good on ya.

Yeah, I'm chompin' at the bit to get back. I think I'll be good tomorrow or Monday AM. Finally feeling human again and thankfully the illness stayed in my head and didn't travel down to the lungs. I hoofed my fat ass up 11 stories of stairs to lecture yesterday to get my lungs burning and clear out any crap that might have been there.

I think I mentioned we have an elliptical and treadmill in our house. You know what's funny? They actually get used regularly!

We've been hitting the pool and doing laps at the YMCA 3 times a week. Lost a few pounds but mostly noticing a little extra room in the clothes which is nice. Good way to work the whole body without a lot of joint aches since we're a little older (okay, a lot older).

I do wish I had access to a pool, but the Y is quite some distance away and they are pricey.

I get a good workout tomorrow though as we have a 2 hour delay!! woot woot. The only reason we have it is the mayor requested all schools do so, way to go Mayor!

We've been making it a family affair. The wife and kids are in the pool too. We take turns staying with the little one while the other does a lap or two. The little one has come a looong way being comfortable in the water. Since one of the kids is usually having a class or something anyway, we decided to go with it, join, and get busy working out.

woot, 2 miles at 8 min a mile, tried for a third at 7:30 but only made it a half mile. I need a better workout to get rid of the beer gut though, it's slow going burning that off

maybe you are plateauing....your body is getting used to the exercises you are currently doing. Switch it up. If your gym has a rowing machine, use that bad boy. It'll beat the hell out of you, it's awesome!

I hate break it too you, but after 25 yrs of working out, I finally found out first hand that the old saying that "abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym" is absolutely spot on.

Cut carbs down to 60 grams a day or less, and sugars down to 25 or less: bada bing bada boom, so long beer belly.
