No delay here but the roads were crap. I'm guessing they're trying to stretch out the rock salt?

Anyway, we drove to our younger son's school and had to use the low gear to navigate through the slush. The school parking lot was also snow covered and/or slushy. After the meeting (which was about a half hour long) I drove my wife to work in the city and the traffic was the worst I've ever seen. Again, mostly slush but drivers around here get really timid when roads are wet so it took me about an hour to navigate all the stop and go traffic along the major boulevards to get to the city where my wife works.

Yup. Rush hour traffic at 10AM and no cancellations or delays for any school in our immediate area. What gives?

I fully expect that the kids will be getting dismissed early and that they'll be cancelled tomorrow because temperatures are going back down to -1.

we should get the winter weather later today / tonight. For now its in the upper 50's. Waiting for the winds to change. They are actually calling for a few inches of snow tonight but we'll see.

Kids are home and the snow has begun. No reason whatsoever as to why they could not have had a full day of school. Total joke. Barely a trace on the ground and it is like talcum powder.

Shiver me timbers! Eight inches of powdery snow and single digit temps at noon. Looks like a coconut exploded outside.

A few years back while exploring the western coastline we stumbled upon a town called Crescent City, near California's northern border. Cute little town with a cool rocky shoreline, excellent for see kayaking.

The other day I looked up the average temperatures. The average winter temperature is 55 and the average summer temp is 65. That's correct the temperature really only changes 10 between summer and winter. Very strange.

Two hour delay today, one tomorrow too, possibly Friday. As a teacher, all good! Short day, doesn't need to be made up. I can be an hour late instead of two, but being in the building to work peacefully for a change is nice. Nasty winter, that's for sure.
