The Latvian goalie stood on his head. I really thought they had a shot at pulling the upset over Canada. Despite the loss they should hold their heads up high!

Thanks QV and Silvio for the curling information - clearly I don't understand the different strategies, but find it fascinating nonetheless!

And it is a day like today I miss HF and his commentary... I mean, Latvia almost pulled that off! Being outshot 54 to 12 or whatever it was, crazy!

I could care less how hard Ovechkin takes the loss but Malkin better shrug it off, get back on the plane ASAP and start practicing again here at Southpointe because the NHL season ain't over yet. Besides, ol' Vlad might just sent him and his family to Siberia over the $51B disappointment.

I don't know hockey well, but two goals to tie it in the final four minutes! That's like giving up a 21 point 4th quarter lead in football, right?

Maybe not quite like giving up 21, more like 14

That game was full of some questionable penalty calls. US saw the short end of that in the 3rd period. Then the open net shot that hit the goal post, that was the first sign that things were not looking good for the US. Better luck to the US mens team.

Dude, are you channeling Hockeyfan on us?

It was an exciting 3rd period though. FWIW though at least one of those penalties against the US in OT was a good call. Canada should have gotten a penalty shot from that take-down from behind.

They really rushed the medal presentation though, didn't they? Silver is nothing to sneeze at but damn, those US ladies were still in shock from losing and I'm sure they'd have liked a little time to lick their wounds.

Oh well, that's how it's supposed to be I guess.

Gotta admit, the site could not have crashed at a better time.

Anyway, congrats to the Canadian Men's Ice Hockey team for their Gold medal win. They were again a pubic hair better than the USA Men's when they played each other. I was a bit miffed at how the USA team seemed to sulk through the Bronze medal game and got exactly what they deserved, the boot from the podium.

Why not repost? I never saw it.

When the site crashed I thought maybe I got the boot for my above post and pissed someone off. I thought, that is Karma for ya, post something like that and then get kicked off or crash the site. LOL!!!!

I was sorry to see the US didn't make it on the podium - I wasn't expecting that.
