You asked, I answered, there we are. ;)

Unfortunately a lot of the governmental oversight of those are run by ex-execs from big pharma, just like the FDA has a lot of folks from the huge "food" companies, Monsanto, Cargill.
It is what it is. My tinfoil hat isn't on too tight, but I am skeptical.

not having a car equates to getting the shot, it decreases your chances of dying in a car crash from driving drunk.

OK, got it. Now that you mention it, we're doing that at the moment. :D Our son's been eligible to get his license for months, I'm not ready. However, we be will soon. It's all a risk vs. benefits (to yourself and kid, in addition to others) thing. I guess for some of you, if you think it sends the message that sex is OK too early, that risk is too high. Nice thing about doing it at age 12 or so is you don't have to tell them what it's for, they're used to getting some shots. Wait until you think they're old enough for sex, and that might not be the case. Especially if they're what, 29 or so?

That is a small part of it. The big part is the long term study, or lack there of, and the mights and maybe's be aggressively used to market something to be injected into my child.

Definitely good to be skeptical. It's amazing the budget drug companies have to market their stuff, those commercials and ads are non stop.
