No solid plans, youngest kid heads off to boy scout camp the 3rd so the wife and I will probably chill by the pool.

We can see our city fireworks from our circle, the neighborhood grills, lights our own, swim, yard games, drink... It's fun!

Wife's leaving for a week, so it'll be the boys and I. They'll both be in the marching band in 4th parade here, maybe if I'm brave I'll see if I'll haul my Dad down for it. We usually set off fireworks too, see how much we want to spend when college tuition starts in a year. Our city of 65,000 acts basically like The Purge in regards to fireworks, it's insanely loud and nonstop. So you don't have to buy your own to enjoy.

You guys catch this? Definitely gets you in the patriotic mood. Amazing.

It's always rough with Justin. My wife's family usually has a family picnic at a particular grove in a county park nearby. We'll make an appearance and then head out, maybe catching fireworks at the local mall parking lot - but more likely we'll just put him to bed at sundown like we always have and then treat it like any other night. That's what we have to do. The real treat is to spend part of it with family.

Going to my BIL's golf club tomorrow for 4th BBQ. Otherwise we will be hanging at home poolside. Hope to sneak a little golf in.

Going to read the Declaration of Independence.
Invited to the members only beach lake where we you used to live by Pippas friends.
Looks like a state park on Sunday. My wife has a checklist. (She's always the planner) Can't just grab and go.

Pretty late on this, and it's been a while since I've checked in....been crazy busy! We made our trip to St. Louis over the 4th weekend. First trip the wife and I took alone since 2011. We left the kids with her sister. Good trip, but it rained the whole dang time we were there. This is not an exaggeration. We did everything we set out to do but as it always does, rain kind of put a damper on things.

Toured the Anheuser-Busch brewery which was pretty cool. (They have 14 aging/lagering tanks on-site. Each one holds enough beer that for one person to drink one you would have to drink 1 beer every hour, 24/7/365 for 137 years. Crazy!) Went to the old courthouse where the Dred Scott case was heard. Saw the arch and went to the top. Did a dinner cruise on the Mississippi which was the wife's favorite part of the trip. And some how, miraculously, they actually played the game on Sunday and we saw our Brewers complete getting swept by the Cards. An hour and a half rain delay to start. Then 2 more rain delays during the game. But they mudded it in!
