If it dont say Weber on it, I wouldnt buy it. Look at their Spirit Series, I think those are the most budget friendly. But dont forget about Craigslist.

I pulled a gas grill off the curb in our annual Village clean-up day. I cleaned it, painted it, and got new grates, voila, looks like a brand new grill. Gave it to my sister.

I just went to the Weber website and looked at them and I love the Summit, but damn the cheapest I found it for was 1799.....Way too much I think....I like it cause it has the spit and the seperate place to put wood chips for smoking.....I do not think I could bring myself to pay that much for a bbq!

I have to agree with the Weber. I've had mine for 18 years or more and it's still going strong. I know I should get a more up to date one, but I really like this one - I know how it cooks and it's still in good shape. I need to replace the ignitor on it, but a BBQ lighter works just as well. I've replaced the grills on it, which seem to be harder to find, but I really like it and am apprehensive about buying a different one; as will it produce the same results?

Go for Weber.

Speaking of which, we have steaks thawing to grill tonight. I know there is 3 feet of snow on the ground but who cares at this stage of winter.

I got one for $5 at a garage sale and replaced all of the parts, even the burner and hoses and got exactly what I wanted and was able to leave it the back yard of my townhouse since it looked like a POS.

Go with charcoal man. Your rips, or ribs as I like to call them, will taste 10x better. The Egg will piss all over any Weber out there. Only click on that link if your serious about grilling and being better than everyone else. It's the Lamborghini of grills. You could settle for the Ford if you like, but that's not what big, strong, tough, hockey players do. There are a few Webers that are like the Ford interceptors though. They'll give you a go, but the ghini will always dominate. Oh and taste better too.

Good luck with your decision. You can stay a boy or become a man.

Have a Google for the Weber Spirit E-310 and you should be able to find one for $400 or less. Really all you need.

Check the prices on replacement parts. When my burners went out I checked on replacement parts. For the 3 burner tubes and 2 other pieces it was going to cost more for the parts then the grill cost. Most burner life is only 5 years. That is based on usage and what you cook. We do a lot of burgers and those decrease the life because of the grease and heat. Ours lasted a little over 2 years.
