Warm but cloudy, mid 80s today. No rain until this afternoon so I'm hoping to get Joey out on the bike again. I took him to the HS parking lot yesterday and there was only one incident where our paths cross and he fell, scraping his elbow. He took it hard, swearing to never ride his bike again bit he changed his mind and asked to go riding again today. He said he's not ready for the bike trail yet, but today I'm going to take his to a large trailhead parking lot and see if he feels adventuresome.

Forgot what it was like in Alabama... 90 something out right now, but a "feels like" of over 100.

Yep, that's humidity. Mere minutes outside and you can bathe in your own sweat. That's what it has been like lately here.

I understand, FTM. Everybody I know is going to Florida right now. They can HAVE it - but I do prefer the heat to the freezing cold. On hot days it can at least rain. Sunny days in winter are much rarer here in PA.

Yes. My wife goes on and on about hating summer and pining for winter, but I would rather sweat than deal with the pain of being cold.

Don't get me wrong, I like a chilly evening in front of a roaring fire, but my job used to put me out in the sweeping BFE plains of Oklahoma in the dead of winter. Once those wind-chills start hitting minus 15 and 20, you just get bone cold--you just can't seem to warm-up. At least during the summer I can walk over into the shade.

And yet another hot one. I don't mind it. Talk to me in February.
