Never an easy decision but for the best usually. I did it after putting down my 17 year old beagle and swearing off dogs. 3 weeks later we rescued another beagle. IMO opinion rescuing a dog should make it easier to put it down when the time comes. Like others have said here, you gave it a second chance and a much better life than it had before.
