Default Mothers Day

Help me out here boys - I am thinking that mothers day is a day for kids to honor their mothers, right??? Not a day for me honoring my wife - So I am thinking that gifts to her need to be about and from the kids ..... right?

I am all for honoring her and what she does but I just think that the gift needs to be more kid friendly ..... ish.

I got her a matching necklace / earring set and plan on spending a family day somewhere ......

I agree that it should be from the kids. You're a better man than I for going the necklace/earring route.

Crafts/cards from the kids will be all that she gets in this house! Although we're going out to brunch at my FILs country club that day..AND temporarily moving in with the in-laws, so that'll be enough excitement!

Got the wife a gift certificate for a day spa (Red Door). We are thinking of heading to Busch Gardens for the day also.

Cards/crafts from the kids are good, because not only will it make your wife feel special, she will also see that you are teaching the kids to appreciate her and teaching them the joy of giving well deserved gifts to others. But you gotta go with the day-spa thing too.........thoughtful, and makes her feel pampered.

Maybe I am not as good as I thought. My wife informed me last night that she picked up herself a little Mother's Day gift in the form of an overpriced hand bag. She got very uncomfortable when the kids gave her the spa certificate. WTF! It's her money right?

The kids bought Mom a "MOM" photo frame that I didn't get to fill 'cause of feeling so sick this week and since the printer is on the fritz, plus a shirt, some cards, flowers at work, and some new gardening supplies (on back order). Wife was very understanding about the incomplete gifts.

We spent the day at Busch Gardens. The weather could not have been better. All that walking and never broke a sweat. The kids acted up a few times but that seemed to be the norm from what I saw. My 7 year old girl did her first stint there sans stroller. Boy was it easier. They are even big enough now where my wife and I can let them do rides together and we can just hang out. Too bad we missed the 38 Special concert. They had some special BBQ pits going. Had some real nice Carolina pulled pork sandwiches. I could eat that every day. I did not see the sausage and pepper pits until it was too late. DANG!
