I just put 100 miles on the van to drop off floor tile samples and place an order for our bathrooms. One of the brake lights is out, so I replaced it.

Since I came back from my guitar vacation I've been trying to keep momentum up on finishing my guitar build. I made a jig to house my router so that I can cut a channel around the perimeter of the back and top plates, which I did last week. I also cleaned up the space at the base of the body for a decorative inlay. This is something I should have done before I glued the top and back to the side so I need to figure out how to clamp it all in place. After that I will bending 4 strips of curly maple using a steel pipe and a propane torch to match the shape and glue it all in.

Here's the jig. It's designed to bold the sides true and control the depth of the cut in two dimensions;

The results aren't so pretty but it's necessary for the next step:

We passed the inspection.
My reward was an Astro night under the stars.
1/4 moon (50%) lit up the night sky, making it difficult to see deep space items. I saw Jupiter, Saturn, some globular clusters, a double star, the dumbbell nebula, and found Tabby's star.
Still not impressed with the computer guiding. It's not spot on at locating items. It's "close."
Oh well.

I went on a lunch cruise with my family on Lake Tahoe to Emerald Bay. It’s a good day to be alive. We swung by a grocery store to fill up the mini fridge because the cost of dining is outrageous.

Play date at the park with hot mom and her kids. No , really, it was hot out (wink).

Comforting the boss because the school district was being jerks and we missed the deadline for registering exchange students. They need approval.

The pisser is we had been calling 2 days prior for an appointment. And never got a call back. The whole leave a message bullcrap. You go to the district building and an armed guard stops you and says, "for that you need an appt."
my wife goes back down and raised hell, making a scene, like an an angry out of control woman, yelling, "why won't somebody return my calls- y-all are working! I see all the damn cannot in the parking lot. Get me the boss now!"
She gets some action!!
The lady explains they had a school board last night and that's when they go over the exchange students for acceptance. We are late.
Effin Really? The lady almost got a roundhouse kick knockdown, with throat punches.
"We had our papers ready. You wouldn't get back to us.
Why is there the need for a G.d appt. anyway. What ya doing back there? Playing poker, Watching game of throne reruns? Why couldn't we come in and talk to somebody?"

The other pisser... The rep for the organization usually handles the district. Everything.
She put the package together (20 pages) gave them to us and asked us to because she is from Scranton and is not familiar with the district.

I got to the point I really didn't give a hoot about the exchange student joining us. We have an extra room. We we can feed another mouth and share the American lifestyle with someone who's interested. Pippa would have an older "sister" maybe for a year. It would make my wife happy.
Happy wife, Happy life.
On the other hand, Fil and Mil closed in the house 9 minutes from here. They own it. Now to unload the one in NJ. I don't understand the situation about that. He's floating 2 mortgages until the other sells. Why??
Mil is already talking about putting in 2 windows here , changing light switches, knocking out walls. Poor guy. He's retiring. This is the retirement house, a ranch without stairs. Walkin shower and tub. But when quits his job, he will be working for her!
Thanks for reading.

Nice Pics Kwak! Happy birthday. Be advised, if you thought 40-50 years old went quick hold onto your hat. 50-60 (Ia m not there yet) is even faster.

Today I did some banking, gathered docs from kids oral surgeons for the ass hats at my insurance company who think my daughter got her 4 wisdom teeth out just for the jun of it, hit the library, saves a baby snapper turtle cross the road and sorted and rolled $370 worth of quarters for deposit in the bank (see F**CK thread about that).

Had to clean the house for company. Ugh.

Spent the morning relaxing. Halfway done with my current S.i.b. Hull done, built up, painted, cannons in place (16)., mast constructed and installed. Today I got "jiggy with it" and put it on the jig, where it will stay until bottle insertion.
Rigging is next.
I created a step by step picture and commentary log at bottledshipbuilder.com in the forum " build logs- Lexington brig 1776" or something similar. You can view it as a guest.

I bought and installed a terlet seat today.
Many failed attempts at top rigging my little USS Lexington 1776.
I need "alone time" to make it happen I reckon.
