Default What Do You Want for Father's Day?

So I was doing dishes earlier this week, and asking people to bring me their dirty dishes to load the dishwasher. My 3 year old, who must have been watching a commercial having something to do with Father's Day and wanted to tell me about it, said, "That's your Father's Day!" My wife, just tuning in, asked me, "Did he just give you dirty dishes for Father's Day?"

My first thought was I sometimes feel like that's what I'm going to get. Then I started thinking about what I'd like for Father's Day, both in fantasy and reality.

Fantasy: a fully equipped recording studio in my home, a home brew kit and a fully stocked bar for entertaining.

Reality: being able to eat all three of my meals for the day without having to give myself indigestion from having to leap up half a dozen times to keep my 3 year old from climbing on an exceedingly precarious position or bolting out the door...and maybe at night celebrating with just the wife (by doing that which led to fatherhood to begin with).

What about you, my fellow dads? Anything in particular on your wish list this year?

Fantasy: Golf trip somewhere nice, two or three days, joined by my fellow SAHDs from here.

Reality - what you said or a mediocre set of drill bits.

Time to myself to either ride my bicycle or tinker on my guitar build without worries or interruptions.

PS: I'll keep it clean since this isn't the pub, but a little intimacy with my wife would be nice too.

I'd love to take a trip, even for a few days, without a child in tow.

Peace and quiet.
