Default $15 off $30 for Paypal

https://paypal.promotionexpert.com/g...l?route=misc.s

If you spend $30 or more in one purchase at any store which accepts it, including eBay between February 8 and March 31, you will receive $15 back.

I'm a little weary of this offer. usually subdomains are like this promotional.paypal.com when the main site address is paypal.com and promotionalexpert.com is a blank page.

I'm not seeing this offer on the paypal site. I know that all the merchants listed on that site pay commissions per sale to sites like tha.

Read the terms of service too, some loop holes. If you buy on Ebay and say you bought from me. It would be sent to my personal account and you would not get your rebate.

I'm sending an email to paypal to see if it's legit.

Good point Don, I did a domain lookup on it, here's the results:
Registrant:
Profood International Corporation
ATTN: PROMOTIONEXPERT.COM
c/o Network Solutions
P.O. Box 447
Herndon, VA 20172-0447

Domain Name: PROMOTIONEXPERT.COM

Administrative Contact :
Profood International Corporation
vr36d7p43hk@networksolutionsprivateregistration.co m
ATTN: PROMOTIONEXPERT.COM
c/o Network Solutions
P.O. Box 447
Herndon, VA 20172-0447
Phone: 570-708-8780

Technical Contact :
Profood International Corporation
vr36d7p43hk@networksolutionsprivateregistration.co m
ATTN: PROMOTIONEXPERT.COM
c/o Network Solutions
P.O. Box 447
Herndon, VA 20172-0447
Phone: 570-708-8780

Record expires on 01-Jun-2012
Record created on 01-Jun-2002
Database last updated on 31-Jan-2007

Seems odd that it's a networks solutions domain, could have been registered by anyone under their registry.
I did it knowing that the only thing they needed was the pay-pal address, no real harm there. But as allways watch any e-mail you get from Pay-Pal or E-bay! If you get a e-mail supposabbly coming from them foward it to spoof@paypal.com or spoof@ebay.com and they will let you know pretty quickly weather it's real or not, and NEVER click a link in one of there e-mails!

My thoughts also, and the site is verified secure, but should probably wait to here from Paypal...
Good catch, Don.

Yeah I did the same as chuck, whois'ed the domain and then even checked it and it's obviously used for redirects. The https part means it's encrypted but that might be to hide it from paypal.

I emailed paypal and received some generic response cause I used the form on their site without logging in. I just sent another one after I logged in so hopefully I'll get a response soon.

Did some more research alsoand found a older deal-looks legit:

http://blog.channeladvisor.com/blog/...paypal/page/2/

scroll down about mid-page. Looks like Paypals answer to Google checkout. The link ( https://www.paypal.com/holiday ) go directly to Paypal.

Could be legit, just wondering why I am not seeing it on their site? Probably is a google checkout knock off. I was reading google was gettgin a ton of users but beware of that too. I read in a ntoehr forum in the fine print when you use google checkout you give them permission to pull your credit report  I have not read it myself, just going on what I read in a very popular marketing forum.

Sounds like they are doing this in response to a similar promotion Google is doing with their new Checkout service.
