Default Ghetto Guacamole

I walked in my daughter eating this the other day and after my initial gag reaction, I tried it. Holey crap it's good!

Here in Florida we have REAL avocados, not those cute little brown alligator pears from California... Ours are green even when they are ripe and they get as big as your head.
Anyway, she popped out the pit, tossed in a huge spoonful of Miracle Whip, and she was eating a giant bite of avocado with a little MW topping.

I know it sounds nasty... it looks even nastier... but it's awesome.

Mayo (or miracle whip) are good on lots of things. I make this nice steak sauce with onion, mushrooms and mayo and beer too. It's really good. Kills your body surely.

damn boy you sure think you're funny dont you

I actually had a quick little guacamole for lunch today. It was a much simpler version of my world-famous "Smoky Guacamole" where I char-up my onions and tomatoes. Today I just chopped up an avocado, tossed on some cilantro and lime juice and scooped it up with some corn chips. Good eats.

My most famous being last summer at our annual Jimmy Buffett weekend. I drew the shortest straw and had to ride in the back of a pick-up truck from our campground to the tailgating, about a 20-minute drive. I was in the back of this truck with all these bags of food and coolers, so I got started making my guac on the drive over. As soon as our caravan parked, everyone has fresh guac. They all said it was the best they've ever had. I have a picture of it somewhere...

I think the avocado and MW probably would be good, but avocados do go with nearly anything. I love adding them to sandwiches of any kind, but the are especially good on BLT's. My family refers to them as BALT's. Can't beat them on a burger either. Must have in a salad.

Without a doubt my favorite burger toppings are: bbq sauce, avocado, grilled onions, and cilantro. Now that's a tasty burger. Ketchup is for kids.

I have decided that this recipe tastes like absolute crap...when you use an overripe Haas from Wal-mart just because you wanted to try something new and that was all that was available today.

I gotta try this again with a good one. Now to just get this taste out of my mouth...where's the turpentine?

There's a big difference between a cute lil haas and a big ole' Florida avocado.

The haas has a nuttier, earthier taste, while the Florida is a fresher brighter taste and doesn't feel as greasy in your mouth.

If a haas is a merlot, the florida avocado is a zinfandel.
