It makes a lot of sense, Riggs. When I first started staying home I tried to adopt that mindset even when others were feeding me shit sandwiches. The problem was that (IMO) people started taking advantage of me, using me as a door mat and pushing me to give in. Nice guys finish last as they say.

I'd bottle it all up and vent it here though and I don't think you guys have appreciated it too much. If anything, I need to open my mouth around here.

The problem is it's been going on for so long (20 years in fact) that any grumbling by me is seen as sour grapes and even the professional family counsellors I've spoken to say that I'm passive aggressive.

So one of my new year's resolutions is to speak up but think first, be respectful (which I admit I need to work on) and have a plan. That's just a start but I also have other resolutions. Maybe I'll at least get some validation if not respect.

Good Ted talk in the video. I'm sure some would see some of the exercises he recommends as a little goofy, but I can see how it could work. I'll sure try.

Yeah Kwak, no being a doormat. I don't think saying confidently what you want/need can be seen as grumbling.

Fox News did story about Planet X and maybe Y. Told ya so. Apparently they intersect our solar system every 10,000 years and throws everything out of whack.
How can we have recurring ice ages this close to the sun, unless our orbit was pushed out?

Amazing how much this hits home for me. For everybody here at the beginning, maybe some of you for the rest someday too. Although I don't get the smile at the end that easily. :D

Here's one of those odd paths you get onto on the internet. I was listening to a few old songs last night, ended up on a documentary about The Knack. Who knew Sharona from My Sharona was now a real estate agent?? She still looks pretty good. http://www.mysharona.com/index.htm
