I had a lady doc as my Gp after hours due to my wife's work and my side kick. Lady doc REFUSED to look below the belt and there was no pm male gp. Turns out those golf balls above my manhood were hernias. Another year went by and a true physical from a male doctor who said "drop your drawers son and turn your head and cough."
So far, had one closed up with mesh surgery but due to my age, couldn't do both at once. I have to wait a year for the other side.

Crazy.

I've had both males and females due to availability and flexibility of hours. The last female never did a below the belt the check. Both the male and female prior to that did. The male tried to crack a joke to make it less weird. I probably made it weirder when I replied to try not to enjoy it too much, on second thought, I don't care if you do as long as you're gentle. The female doc told me I may feel a pinch....I think she used two fingers.

As long as I don't see two hands when a male Dr. Is doing it I am comfortable with it. Better s afe than sorry.

Yeah just trying to establish a primary care physician. I have a small spot on my chest, like a fatty cyst, that needs to be removed. Last guy I went too is tied to a hospital that is almost an hour from where I live. It was crazy going through the different doctors and seeing some whose first appointment were in October and November.

I just saw my doctor last month and have a return visit next month. He is supposedly going to be retiring soon, so I guess we need to hunt for a new one. Male or female I don't care. I don't have the urges I used to. I just don't want somebody who looks at a checklist from the AMA or FDA and follows it dogmatically. I want a doctor who can look at my chart, listens to my family and medical history and steps back and thinks before going with a course of action. That's something that my current docs does in part. I know he's going to want to put me on a statin though because my LDL is above a certain number. When it comes to my body though, being plugged into it as I am I am privy to information that is less abstract.

BTW, I also had the old prostate checked. Having gone through basic training it's easy to go into that frame of mind where you think of your body as being a pin cushion for somebody who knows where to poke to get the necessary information or response. Getting the prostate checked though? It's a weird experience because of the point of entry and all, though not what I'd call either shameful or enjoyable. I'll leave it at that.

On the bright side, the doc said my prostate was nice and small. If that's a good thing - and he said it was - then I'm happy.

When United waves $1000 around take it, don't wait for the bouncers to come in and start removing people.

I heard snippets about United but not the whole story. I took the blue pill thins morning. Ignorance is bliss.
