NO, this week so don't spoil it. One of the 7th graders already let slip one detail about it that I was NOT happy he told me. (Though it made sense, kinda followed all the past ones...)

Fair enough. FWIW I liked TFA better.

Took the kids out the week before Christmas break to go to Orlando. Had 1 1/2 days of school because of snow to start January. Another snow day today. In the last 5 weeks my girls have been in school 2 full days and 1 half day. I love time with them but this is getting old.

Wife and I were sitting on the couch last night after the kids went to bed. She gets a message from her mom and asks me, "We doing anything the weekend of May (whatever)." "Not that I know of."

"Mom wants to know if I want to go with her and Aunt Patti to a quilt show, to eat at Perkins, and then go play Bingo."

That just cracked me up! Wife says, "What's so funny?!" Said, "Don't forget your walker and oxygen tank!" While on one hand she thought the comment was maybe not in the best of taste, she started cracking up too.

We were still laughing about it this morning.

Getting new appliances today. Pretty excited for the stove and fridge. The fridge that came with the house was falling apart. We did one of those things at Best Buy where you get 0% for 18 months. We have always been really good at paying things off so it's a easy way to get something we "need" and get extra time to pay for it. Also ordered new microwave and dishwasher but delayed the delivery. We are getting estimates for a kitchen remodel and didn't feel like paying to install them twice.

We did that when we had to replace our refrigerator. Of course the price we pay is about a metric ton of junk mail from Best Buy every week trying to sell us more stuff!

Getting new appliances is always a nice thing. Itís amazing how just little things can make such a daily improvement.

The boy and I went swimming this morning and then out to lunch at a place that's full of regulars, including us....and then tourists. Anyway, we were sitting next to a group of 4 guys on a business lunch and just in front of us was the bar where a couple came in and sat down maybe 5 feet in front of us. When she took off her coat she had the sales tag hanging half way down her back on the shirt she was wearing.

Conundrum!!! The right thing to do is tell the person, but how will she take it? Especially from a dude, which it was just me, my son, and 4 power-lunchers who saw it. How will her husband/boyfriend/whatever take it? You never know? In conversing with the business lunch guys next to us we decided that since I had a 2 year old with me it was probably best that I tell her. I'm the least threatening and she probably won't slap me in front of my kid.

All ended well. She was clearly embarrassed but thanked me for telling her. The husband said, "That's all her fault. I told her this morning that it was there." She ripped it off and he said, "Well...now you can't return it!" I said, "I saw that episode of The King of Queens too. Didn't know if that's what was going on?" Everyone had a laugh. All good!

LOL!

I have a big rant about this very topic regarding my wife - which I have typed out and summarily backspaced. Suffice it to say, but for some shopping is their only hobby and it's not even about the stuff they buy.

I hate watching the Olympics and falling asleep on the couch WAITING for the event you stayed up to see.
