WC-got a question about your furnace is it a wood burning "hot air' furnace or hot water boiler that burns wood? Im just curious if it is either one how often do you have to feed in the wood to keep it good and hot?

There is small fan that sends the heated air into the main furnace plenum, then gets distributed throughout the duct system.

Since it is not a very modern design, I get 4-8hr burn times depending on type of wood. With oak and similiar woods, there is no need to get up early to maintain the fire, a good load of large(thick) pieces at 10pm, still have bed of coals at 6-7am.

Chuck, you are a fine example to our youth.

We had a little whiskey and a fire last night as well. Or was that a Lot of whiskey and a little fire?
Kids slept until 8:30 this morning. Roasted marshmellows wound them up tight last night and then they crashed hard :D

For all intensive purposes, its a gorgeous day, kids let me sleep in until 800, after breakfast we headed outside, them to play, myself to start on getting a log milled, and overall we played, then daddy focused on log, we played, daddy focused.....you get it. So, I managed to get the first slab cut done, then into the house for lunch so my daughter would be on time for her speech development class(20min), in the meantime, the boy and I checked out the city log dump but nothing new, so onto the park for social hour, he played for a few minutes then hit on all the best looking moms, introduced himself and asked polite questions, then "see ya later", on to the next mom, it was kind of funny, and the moms were in good humor too.
So, my daughters homework this week regards " if-then " statements, she was having trouble with that, so that's our target area for the next 6days.
Now its naptime for them, and finish milling for me, I've been getting some pics and will post them later on/.

Had a great Sunday with the family yesterday. We have a park in walking distance of our apartments. We all walked(wife waddled, pregnant) over to the park to let Hailey get some fresh air and play for awhile. We usually stay for about an hour, but there were several other families over there with kids of all ages.Ended up staying about three hours. Its was very cool , even the older kids would play with the younger ones and had patiences with them as well. The other parents were all cool and we made conversation with each other like we've known one other for years.

This has been common place for us since we got here, the residents that live here in Chula Vista are really friendly and I'm going to miss that alot when we move back East.

Been a mixture of goofing off, my stomach is killing today btw. Had a pretty morning w/ the baby and only had to yell at the older boys twice. Hope it's nice out this weekend when we head to Hershey!

Hated to do it..but I sold my "beater" Volvo today. It started to give me problems , which I didn't mind at first cause I like tinkering with cars. But now since we're going to be moving back across country I've decided not to put anymore money into it. So I thought I'd put it in Craigslist today around 2pm or so. By 2:05pm I had my first call, then another, then another and by 3:05pm "CAR SOLD". The guy was ex Volvo mechanic and likes to fix them up. I priced the car low because of some mechanical problems and the fact I didn't want the headache of dealing with people calling for weeks.

But I got over 30 calls in that hour and that was a 20 year old CAR!!! Anyway I was caught off guard and the guy came...heard it run, didn't even drive it and laid down the cash. I cleaned it out and boom that was it.

I know my daughter Hailey doesn't quite understands that the Volvo is gone for good yet. She really liked that car compared to the nice newer car we have only because she can see out of the windows while in her car seat. Poor thing the last time I had it in the shop was walking around the house saying she's sad because the Volvo's sick...haha....anyway that was my day.......

Got together this morning with CTDadof3 and his clan. Beautiful day at the park, kids played really well together, had a blast and got really dirty. Dads chatted and eyeballed some of the perks/benefits of warm weather and the effects it has on clothing.

Thanks to him for buying ice cream for everybody from the ice cream truck!!!
