Default 360 Price cut

Now officially cheaper than a Wii. The Arcade doesn't have a hard drive though so you can't play online.

Xbox 360 Price cut (now US $199)

It's official: We've got an Xbox 360 price cut coming to the US. Our friends in Japan announced their price cut earlier this week, but now it's time to roll one out here. As of September 5th, the new prices will be as follows:

Xbox 360 Arcade $199
Xbox 360 $299
Xbox 360 Elite $399
Major Nelson

Nice. May have to get one if my RROD comes back. I had it a couple of times one night a few weeks ago, but since it hasn't came back. It's just a matter of time right.

The arcade version (even if I keep my HD) doesn't have the HDMI and stuff does it? If it does, then that's an insane jump in price to the normal version with an HD. Is it really worth 100 bucks?

The Arcade does have HDMI. The extra hundred is for the 60 gig HD I guess. You also get an HDMI cable with the $299 one and you only get component with the Arcade.

You Mark. You. You don't have those golf course dues to pay anymore. Why not throw down what you and your wife would on a tip at a restaurant for a 360. Then you can join us online on the weekends and stay up till all hours. It'll be fun!

I think it is just the free market at work. Only one brand is lowering $$ right now from what I see. Are Wii still on back order? Every time I walk into a games stop or something the places are packed. I just shake my head. It is amazing what people can find money for when they want to. Happy gaming fellas.

Eh as far as i can see the economy does suck. I cant buy as many games now as i could last year. I have given up new releases for games that have been out for a couple years. You dont have to stop gaming just buy cheaper games

Does it take a specific hard drive or any standard drive off of the shelf? $100 just for 60gig is salty. If that's the only difference.

It takes a specific hard drive (which is annoying as hell). The good news is that you should be able to pick up a 20 gig off of ebay for $20 or $30 or so.
