Default Home Made Pizza

Well there is no secret that I love Pizza. With the threat of no job as of the 1st of the year we keep cutting back so I decided to go back to making my own pizzas. This bad boy is a Chicago Style Pizza (Jeffus can go away now) with a Flour and Cornbread Crust topped with Sausage, Onion and Black Olives, a pile of Mozzarella cheese and a sprinkling of Parmesan and Romano Cheese. And of course being Chicago Style the Sauce is on TOP...

The Total Cost to make it... Maybe $5.00 (Local Place no less the $20.00)

The Creation
  • Pizza Dough made in a Bread Machine. Flour, Yeast, Corn Bread Mix, Oregano, Olive Oil, Salt.
  • Diced Tomatoes on Top
  • Diced Black Olives, Onions
  • Browned Sweet Italian Sausage
  • Silver Deep Dish Pan. (Black Iron Ones are pretty cool)
  • More the an Hour in the Oven
Mmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

kudos for making your own!
BUT!
Dude pizza just ain't that thick! you take the term pie to literally!! Pizza is thin with toppings piles high and a beautiful high bubble crust, lots of cheese and lots of beer served with it! You really need to have lunch with Jeff and I us Jersey boys can explain it all to ya!
Oh ya and I've been making my own for about ten years now, learned how working on the boardwalk on the jerseyshore as a kid, its one heck of a lot cheaper and the kid loves to help!

I don't know what it is but when man kind got past the Adirondacks he forgot how to make pizza! ain't no one west of Pennsylvania that knows how to make the stuff, heck next thing you'll be saying you like ham and pineapple on them!
I actually had a buddy from jersey who I worked with on the boards who moved to Colorado and opened a pizza place and made real pizza he now owns six places out there because folks can't find the real thing out there anywhere! (shoulda gone with him instead of getting married and having kids in new jersey but hey the pizza's good!)

Spoken like a true Jersey Boy. I love Chicago Pizza but it just not the same. It's gotta be thin with a crispy crust. And the closer you get to NYC the better it gets. As far as PA goes, I'd say no one west of West Chester (about 20 miles west of Philly) knows how to make it. I'm sure Pittsburgh has some good pizza though.

That looks really good, Darth!

And I thought I was creative when I made pizza out of whole wheat pitas! (topped with sauce and choice of toppings)!

You East Coasters are just Jealous on my mad pizza skills...
That crust was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

My next pizzas will be a cracker thin crust. I am a fan of all good pizza... Then the following week more of a hand tossed type pizza... I am going to play with all the different crust types, even stuffed crust.

There are a few really good places around here for the super thin cracker crust. Those are like $15.00+ for a large...

Mmmmmm Pizza

Deep Dish Pizza! That's how we roll in Chicago - GO BIG OR GO HOME!

Actually I like both thin and thick. Whatever mood hits me. It's all good. This is one of those debates I wont get involved in.

Darth that looks text-book!

Grilled is great! What is Chicago style anyways? Do they always do things upside down? Oh wait, that's the home of the Cubs.
